Technique of the Week

The Leaves on a Stream technique is a simple but powerful method to help you quiet your mind and release negative thoughts. This technique involves picturing your thoughts as leaves floating on a stream, allowing you to observe them and let them go. This practice can help you become more present and grounded, reducing stress and anxiety and improving your overall well-being.

Book of the Week

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig:

Nora’s life has been going from bad to worse. Then at the stroke of midnight on her last day on earth she finds herself transported to a library. There she is given the chance to undo her regrets and try out each of the other lives she might have lived. Which raises the ultimate question: with infinite choices, what is the best way to live?

I loved this book. It really makes you think about the decisions you have made in your life and how it has destined you for a certain path. What would we do when we had the chance to do it all over again? Would we make changes or leave everything the same?

Podcast of the Week

Meditative Story is a first-of-its-kind podcast listening experience that combines the emotional pull of immersive storytelling with the immediate, science-backed benefits of mindfulness practice.

In this episode, Natalie Dawn (who is one-half of the band Pomplamoose) shares how a beginner’s mindset — even if it’s uncomfortable at first — can be a doorway to connection and joy.

News of the Week

The Good News Network is a place where wholesome stories are shared daily. This particular article stood out for me this week due to the combination of the surprise and the youthful spirit of the elderly lady.

A great-grandmother who is mad for motorcycles was granted her birthday wish to ride on the back of a Harley-Davidson – a call-back to her youth while celebrating turning 90.

Fearless Brit Barbara Morris said she “felt 21 again” during her spin around town on the powerful American cruising bike.

She mentioned to her family several years ago that if she made it to 90, she’d like to get back in the saddle one last time.
